Sometimes being a stay at home / work from home mom things can get tricky. So finding balance is key.

Motherhood

I have always wanted a bunch of kids and to be home with them. I LOVE being home with the kids and really enjoy watching them learn, play and grow. Hearing the belly laughs to kissing the ‘owies’ it is everything one could hope for.

BUT…

It also challenges the f^&% out of you. My house is an utter disaster right now with a half empty dishwasher, unfolded clothes, kids toys and multiple unfinished projects. Trying to find that ‘life balance’ of work, home-making/chores, child care, education, running errands and most importantly – self care, can feel next to impossible.

Making Do

I make do with what I have time to do. I know how many things need to get done but sometimes… I just can’t.

You can do anything but not everything.”

Finding this ‘new normal’ with the kids is somewhat challenging. Usually work hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, however with quarantine – hours are all over the place!

To get a little ‘me’ time in each day, working out has been great! There may not be a ton of motivation but when it’s done spirits are high.

When the weather has been nice, my work out includes a run with Honey. I hate running. She loves it. Good thing she can pull me half the way!

Changing Seasons

Wisconsin is not in full swing of spring. There have been some really nice days, however! Currently, the temperatures are not warm enough to transplant the veggies out to the yard. During warmer sunny days, we have been moving the pots outside for as long as possible. We hope that the somewhat weak stocks will harden as they get to strech for the sunlight.

Don’t mind the snow hiding in the background. We had a fluke in weather. #wisconsin #midwestliving

The sun as well as any dry weather are more than welcomed by us all. Especially for Ox who is busy riding the GS. He is trying to get in as much practice as he can in the back fields. Slowly but surely Ox has been working in some appropriate off-road gear. The boys LOVE it when he rides around in the yard.

Speaking of Riding

I had my first real lesson just last weekend! I was sooo excited, yet scared sh!tless. We have some really close friends who are married that just bought a 2007 1200GS Low for the Mrs. Just that morning, the Mrs. had her first lesson as well and was kind enough to bring the bike over to our place for my own lesson.

1977 R100

The status of my R100 is that my parts are ordered! Sadly, they are stuck in customs on the East cost so the rebuild in currently on hold. Ox and I did some super light cleaning and put the swing arm back on but nothing more than that.

May 26th, 2020

Wisconsin recently announced that the Safer At Home order was extended for an additional month. Already the students at public school will not be returning for the remaining 2019-2020 school year. I am not sure how long this is going to last but I hope they open the trails sooner rather than later.

Thanks for reading.

And most of all…

Rubber Side Down.
